profile
"AA=" is the solo project of the brains behind the domestically and globally acclaimed band THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS, Takeshi Ueda.
The overwhelmingly destructive sounds produced by his extreme fusion of programming and rock combined with lingering melodies are sure to create a new milestone in the world of rock.
The artist name comes from George Orwell's novel "Animal Farm" based on the famous quote "all animals are equal."
THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS
Formed in 1990. After making multiple indies releases, they had their major debut in 1991 with the label Victor Entertainment. In 2004, they released 2 best albums "1990-1996" and "1997-2004" at the same time, making for a total of 11 albums and 2 best albums to date, with all of their recent works coming in at the top of the album charts. Their concerts always sold out, and they held performances with international artists and at major rock festivals, giving their live performances consistently positive reviews. After their major overseas release of "OSC-DIS," they became more active abroad, completing two European tours, performing at OZZ FEST (main stage) in 2002, at Kerrang's Game On Festival in 2003, and at other major festivals in England. They were active on a large scale, both domestically and abroad, making them an iconic Japanese group.
In April 2006, THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS announced that they would be taking an extended break as a group.
