FENNESZ
Fennesz is recognized for creating "beautiful landscapes" by delicately arranging the sounds and modulating the guitars.
Fennesz made a significant influence on the global electronic music scene with the album "Endless Summer," released in 2001. Later on, he further expanded his realm of expression in electronic music with his album "Venice" in 2004, which featured guest vocal David Sylvian from the former English band Japan.
After a joint performance with Ryuichi Sakamoto in 2004, they released their first collaborative release "Sala Santa Cecilia"(CDEP) in 2005, which includes a part of their live recordings, and the full album "Cendre" (RZCM-45525) under the name of Fennesz + Sakamoto in 2007.
In the same year, he joined YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA's European tour as a guitarist. Recordings from this tour were simultaneously released as live albums.
His fifth studio album, which is his first in the past four years, seems to be significantly influenced by his collab with Ryuichi Sakamoto. Compared with his previous creations, he successfully forms a beautiful melody line with a trace of a guitar in it. Though the powerful electronic sounds are scattered here and there, he has created an elegant and soothing sound in his tunes. As a pioneer in the 21st century's electronic music world, Fennesz creates state-of-the-art yet cross-genre ubiquitous music pieces.
