Haruomi Hosono, along with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi, members of the legendary group Yellow Magic Orchestra, pioneered computerized exotic sounds and were one of the most successful Japanese groups of the 1980s. As one of the most important groups in early electronic music, they have influenced many artists across genres such as techno/hip hop/pops/rock. Haruomi Hosono continues to work as one of Japan's pioneers of rock/pop music and is a leading figure in Japanese electronic music. Ryuichi Sakamoto continues pursuing innovative new sounds and has also received international acclaim as an award-winning composer. Yukihiro Takahashi is widely known not only as a producer of Japanese rock and pop music, but also as a fashion designer and writer. The trio has been silent since they got back together in 1993, and set foot on the stage again in 2004 as a group for the first time in 11 years. The group name at the time was "Human Audio Sponge," which reflected their musical inclination of absorbing all kinds of music, sharing ideas, and creating a completely original sound. The group appeared in Europe's largest electronic music festival "sonar" and also appeared in "sonar sound tokyo" of the same year, becoming the talk of Tokyo. This adventure of theirs' can be seen on the DVD "HAS/HAS." The trio has since then transcended the names "Human Audio Sponge" and "Yellow Magic Orchestra" and are now creating a new sound under the name "HASYMO."

This is the trio's first performance as Yellow Magic Orchestra in the 14 years since their reunion in Tokyo Dome in 1993, where they energized over 100,000 fans over the course of two days.
