"Nord" was born from an offer from Mr. Hokuren, "I want Ryuichi Sakamoto to make a commercial song." What are your thoughts on the music by the client and the creators?
―What made you decide to ask Ryuichi Sakamoto to make a commercial song?
In this CM, I wanted to showcase the "clean farming" that is a major merit of Hokkaido farming by drawing the majestic land that is the background of Hokkaido farming, the people who work there, and the crops that are harvested. Therefore, I thought about asking Ryuichi Sakamoto who is highly interested in environmental issues, to compose music.
-What were your thoughts when you actually listened to the song?
I sent the video of the temporarily edited commercial to Mr. Sakamoto in advance to make it useful for songwriting, but when I heard the first sketch, I was in a good sense the impression that I was betrayed. The lightness and lightness that everyone on the staff had imagined that the song would be majestic and dramatic. A melody that adapts to the image beautifully as you listen to it many times. I took off my hat.

―What kind of mind did you make the song in?
Since before the current economic crisis, I had heard a lot about the economy of Hokkaido, so I made it with the feeling that Hokkaido will be well again, and with a view of the broad landscape.
-Please raise 3 of your favorite Hokkaido foods.
When I first came to Hokkaido, I saw the wide scenery and thought, "This is not Japan." I feel "foreign country" and "romance" in a good sense. Of course, the food is great and the women are beautiful.
-What made you decide to make the CD limited to the Hokkaido area?
I think that there are various ways to deliver music according to it, and as one of the trials, I adopted this method. I would like to try various things in the future.
-A message to everyone in Hokkaido.
I'm really looking forward to my concert at Hokkaido for the first time in a long time. Hope Hokkaido will be fine.
