OOIOO was born in 1995, when the magazine "SWITCH" planned "YO SHIMI to produce a fictional band".
Even in the “Karugaga” commercial, which is currently on air, we asked YO SHIMI, the mastermind who has demonstrated his unique talent, about the band's origination and new album.
―Please tell us the origin of the band name, OOIOO.
(Yamataka) When I glanced at the memo pad of eye, it was written as OOIOO, and I thought this was the band name I was looking for, so I stole it as the band name.
The feeling that the design jumped into my eyes was perfect for the band name I was looking for.
― What are the activities of OOIOO in your activities as BOREDOMS and YO SHIMI O?

―Please tell us about the concept of the new album “ARMONICO HEWA”.
The world of ARMONICO HEWA-This is a butterfly story.
Butterflies look only at the ones in the form of caterpillars in front of their eyes and crawl through Mother Earth.
Then, in a small cocoon, you will be in a dark world.
For humans, this darkness is essential for the spiritual transformation.
In fact, the caterpillar has already become a butterfly in this darkness, and it starts moving in the cocoon,
Even if he can show the sign of life again, he will not break the cocoon and jump out until it is ready.
It uses its basic elements to create its own internal power, as if it reconnects with the basic elements of life: water, air, fire, and soil.
When time is full and the butterflies fly, they suddenly see the world from a completely different perspective.
It has a wider perspective of beauty and a much wider world view.
This means that it becomes a butterfly.
This story boiled up at the time of mixdown, and it is studded with lyrics.
I feel that this concept is expressed as a punk band, not expressed in spiritual jazz.
―YO SHIMI 's work consistently has a multi-ethnic atmosphere. What kind of thoughts do you put in that?

-What was the concept behind the "Karugaga" CM song?
The person who asked me for the music for the CM saw the PV of "UMO" from the previous album "TAIGA" and said that I want the upper to make more with this music and this image.
The original music of that CM's music is "SOL" recorded in this album.
