Formed in the 1980s, Shiro Takatani is one of the founding members of the "Dumb Type" that has given a new shock to the art world as a collective of artists from various media such as architecture, dance, music, video, art and design. Takatani's first solo-directed work "Bright Room" released in 2008 is also a homage to the theory of photography by the same-named Roland Barth, an optical camera used by the artist to project the landscape onto his paper. It also means Lucida.
The existence of "photographs" that point out "what once existed" (and its "death") suggested by Baltic, and the multi-layered image of "memory" that imposes on human beings, is reflected in each audience. It will invite you to a journey to the physical space and your own memory.
