profile
□□□ (Kuchiroro)
Formed as a breakbeats unit in 1998 with members Koshi Miura and Kazumi Nanba.
Afterwards, through a series of trial and error with live/recording sessions with various musicians (who played turntables and samplers), the group gradually shifted to a pop-oriented style.
Their 1st self-titled album released through WEATHER / HEADZ in June 2004 was selected as the best album of the year in the music magazine "Rock (Japan)" and gained high acclaim throughout the industry.
In August 2005, announced the 19-single CD "Asa no Hikari / Nagisa no Cinderella", and in November, announced their 2ng big pop album "Fanfare" with WEATHER / HEADZ.
In October 2006, UNKNOWNMIX / HEADZ released "20th Century Abstract", a collection of early sound sources produced in the last century according to the title.
November 2006, transferred to the label "commmons," started by Ryuichi Sakamoto under Avex Group to allow artists to explore new possibilities for their music.
February 2007, debuted with their single "GOLDEN KING," followed by the single "GOLDENWEEK" in May, and in August 22nd, released their 4th album, the unprecedented breakbeat musical "GOLDEN LOVE." This album was selected as the best album of 2007 in the music magazine "Rock (Japan)," making this the second time the group received this accolade.
December 31, 2007, Shige Murata, who was also active in recording/live support roles for various artists, joined as the third member. This marked a new beginning for the group. From their spirit of experimentation to their naughty humor, from their refined composing skills to their flexibility with sound and genre, comprehending and misunderstanding each other, the group transcended all of these to acquire the very essence and spirit of music.
They are not afraid of a challenge. They'll take everything they have, chop it up, toss it into a pot, and cook up something new.
Vocals, hip-hop, soul, house, techno, sound effects, jazz, you'll hear everything from them. And their creative spark is not just simply making a wide variety of music; it's making an original form of J-POP that everyone can enjoy. Of course, their musical menu changes daily.
