commmons: schola

NHK education program "schola (Schola) Ryuichi Sakamoto Music School"

Professor's first music regular program "schola (Schola) Ryuichi Sakamoto music school" is, will start last in the NHK education than April 3 (Saturday). Along with that, we will introduce the charm of this program one step ahead of on-air.

Ryuichi Sakamoto, the first music regular program

The CD series "commmons: schola", which Ryuichi Sakamoto is currently working on as a life work, with the aim of exploring music of all genres from classical music to rock and folk music academically. This series of TV programs, which had been considered since the beginning of the CD project, was finally realized.
Program title, "schola (Schola) Ryuichi Sakamoto music school". The main highlight is that this time, Ryuichi Sakamoto will challenge the regular appearance of the TV program for the first time.

I decided to do Schola on TV. How to show Schola on TV,
Or I'm trying to find out how to make TV look like a Schola, one by one.
The workshops with the kids are interesting and talking with other teachers is very exciting.

Ryuichi Sakamoto

"Schola = school" commitment

As the person himself says, "Schola like" is given the highest priority in this program. As many of you may already know, "Schola" is a Latin word that means "school". Based on this concept, we will delve into music as a discipline through workshops targeting junior high school students to high school students (mainly middle 2 to high 1) who aspire to music, dialogues with experts, and other rich documentary videos. The purpose of the show.
Among them, the special live performance by Ryuichi Sakamoto himself cannot be overlooked. As a result, Ryuichi Sakamoto who is the responsible editor of this program as well as the CD, has finished in a style of music program that has never existed before, telling, teaching, and playing the charm of music.

Ahead of the on-air at hand, the program producer Taketoshi Sado (Sado Taketoshi) said, this says.

When the project for the "Schola" CD series was launched, I thought, "If you don't visualize it, it will be a social loss." To that extent, I think this activity is meaningful.
Actually, I helped Sakamoto's program on the radio that was the sprouting of this Schola series, but that's why, for example, if it was supposed to be handled by Mr. Minho and other personnel, I would have been jealous (laughs).
Aside from that, since Ryuichi Sakamoto has a regular TV for the first time, I am looking forward to forgetting the position of the person in charge of the program. To date, the second series (scheduled to be broadcast in May), "Jazz Edition" has been recorded with the help of Yosuke Yamashita but at the workshop with junior high and high school students, "lecture" was given to everyone as a "professor". The appearance of Mr. Sakamoto, who is being said, is the very first time that he can be called a "professional occupation". In addition, the jazz battle with Mr. Yamashita, which started and stopped, was also impressive.
We will continue to welcome luxurious guests in each genre, and we will be thrilled if we will have a dream co-star, and we will be thrilled to know the secrets of the music of the east and west of ancient times.

NHK chief producer Taketoshi Sado (Sado-Taketoshi)

The first season is "Bach" "Jazz" "Drums and Bass"

The program composition is 4 times in total for one music theme (4 weeks/month). This time, which is the first season, we will focus on three themes: "Bach," "Jazz," and "Drums and Bass. It is inevitable that we will invite the luxurious guests who were also involved in the CD production for each theme, and to hold unique and academic lectures every time.
Not only for those who have already purchased "commmons: schola", but also for those who want to step into the deep music world from here, this program is a must-see.
